The Blackwood Junior Hockey region incorporates the towns of Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Greenbushes and Manjimup. In 2005 the Singapore Hockey Association invited young country hockey players to participate in a cultural and sporting exchange with their association in Singapore. Players from teams competing in the Boyup Brook / Bridgetown Junior Hockey competion carried out fundraising and were able to send two teams of junior hockey players to Singapore in response to this invitation.
